This cuvee Initiale is the red version of their rosé that's got gobs of big black fruit flavor and it's certified organic. Initiale is that good and it's incredibly reasonable for guilt-free enjoyment.

Rosé is a becoming an increasingly fashionable drink, particularly when it's pale and dry and the weather's hot, but some pink wines are much better than others. I love the salmon colored elixir anytime of year, though warm summer days certainly do lend themselves to opening a bottle, or two...When rose is around, it's amazing how popular one can become.

Eric de Suremain has a talent for making wine that far out-strips its appellation. Rully Premier Cru Preaux may not have the household name status of other Burgundy appellations, but that didn't stop Neil Martin of The Wine Advocate from beating a path to Suremain's door to give a 90-point review on this beautiful bottle a couple of vintages back. Suremain somehow embeds this wine's flavors into every molecule scattering black cherry, raspberry, mint, leather, chocolate fairy dust along the way in this "Classic" vintage.
