Love the wine you're with!

Love the wine you're with!

Love is in the air! Or is that snow? Either or, it's that time of year, when as cold as it is outside, our hearts are filled with warmth for those we love. What's better than sharing our declarations of love and devotion, unless it's accompanied by a lovely bottle of wine...a little champagne, a little stargazing into each others eyes over the lips of your flutes...
Crisp, Lively and Delicious - Our Great White Bordeaux

Crisp, Lively and Delicious - Our Great White Bordeaux

From the Bordeaux appellation of Graves, this dry white Château Simon Graves Blanc brims with clean notes of citrus fruit and white flowers. It's a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon and delivers concentration, freshness and great acidity. The wine is refreshing but substantial and finishes with a complex herbal note - pure pleasure to drink.
Holiday Showstopper - Rare Domaine Couly Dutheil, Chinon, Les Chanteaux 2016

Holiday Showstopper - Rare Domaine Couly Dutheil, Chinon, Les Chanteaux 2016

Couly Dutheil's Les Chanteaux has such a huge fan club that it's tough to keep this in stock. This 100% Chenin Blanc is a wonderful and unique expression of the grape. The wine is dry, round, and vibrant with floral aromas and a little melon, white pear and pineapple on the palate. The 2016 vintage is stupendous! Spring frost damage in Chinon reduced yields by 40%, so when this cult favorite is gone, it's gone. Stock up now.
French Sparking Rose - Limoux Style

French Sparking Rose - Limoux Style

We searched all over Burgundy, Alsace and the Loire, and when we found this sparkler from Domaine J.Laurens in Limoux in the south of France we knew right away that we'd found the bubbles to get the party started. La Rose No 7 is flavorful - pale cherry in color with delicate bubbles and a fresh dry, not too sweet style- it's a sin to drink this only on special occasions
France? Spain? A few of my favorite countries, and certainly some of my favorite wines.

France? Spain? A few of my favorite countries, and certainly some of my favorite wines.

Not that we need an excuse to drink bubbly, 'Carpe Diem' is my life's motto after all, and when the world hands us a bottle of joyous exuberance, who can, or should, say no? With the holidays approaching, and having to consider budget, at least occasionally, I like to save a little champagne for a bit more special occasion and enjoy other sparklers, and I am in love with Cava, so that makes my life easy.
