Diane is a talented songwriter. Her sweet voice makes you sit up and take notice of her powerful words. "I grew up on the Wading River, in Norton, MA and we had a swimming hole there. When I was young I would go to the end of the diving board and sing to the trees. They were a lovely audience; the swaying branches and rustling leaves sounded amusingly like applause. " -Diane Battistello
FOLKSOUL DUO is Fred Simmons and Leslie Vogel, doing what we do, on trombone, guitar, keyboard and accordion, playing which ever songs we choose from our repertoire. without any help from our friends.

The Byfield Community Arts Center began operating in 2006 and achieved status as a 501(c)(3) in 2013. Its budget is funded primarily from programming, hall rentals, donations, and grants.
The town hall, built in 1898, is open and available for classes, performances, and other events. The property is owned by the town of Newbury and the managers have been appointed by the town to serve as supervisors of the programs/facilities.
Our mission is to promote community through and with the arts. It is our hope to make the BCAC the center of community activity, not just in Byfield, but the greater regional community as well. Our goal is to provide area residents with a diverse offering of programs at an affordable price.
We are always looking for people that want to share in the spirit of giving back to the local community. The amount of time required is limited to the amount you want to give!
